The best pet shop in Amsterdam. They have a wealth of knowledge and offer excellent quality pet food. They always try to help if something's wrong with your pets. A great place!

The Ara is exactly the kind of place you're glad is just around the corner. My girlfriend and I have had a sweet cat for the past six months, and a pet shop like this suddenly becomes essential. But this place is more than practical, and the owner is worth his weight in gold: always friendly and helpful. The shop (just like Zonneplein itself) exudes that typical "village feel," which is special in Amsterdam. We're fans, and so is Luuk! 😉

I received detailed explanations and advice on finding the right chew, and the dog is very happy! The owner is incredibly knowledgeable (including medical) and shares his knowledge passionately.

The store is small but has a big variety of items. The owner is very nice and welcoming. He even asked the food we usually give to our dog and told us there was a chance he could order it, ended up not beeing necessary. They also sell some snacks per unit, in case you don't want to buy a whole pack. Went there twice and plan to go back.

No pet store I've ever been to comes close to De Ara. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, and he offers quality products. Highly recommended.

Literally the most enjoyable experience in pet food stores. Little store with plenty of stock and without any disappointed shop keeper. I will return and continue to purchase supplies for my dog.
